Sunless Tan
Admist growing fears of sun cancer, use of self tanning products is surging, showing that the world is now serious about sun safety.
Una riga aggiunta. An added row.
Self tanning products, also called ''sunless tan" lotions, contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a colorless sugar that interacts with dead surface cells in the epidermis, causing the the skin to become darker. Like a regular sun radiation tan, the effect is temporary, as the dead cells are naturally removed.
Scientists have proven that a Sunless Tan is a lot more healthy than a suntan, however, because while suntans also start fading after a few days, the harm done to the skin is permanent. Getting a suntan breaks down the DNA in skin cells, but applying a sunless tan causes no such damage. At worst, sunless tanning products present a minimal risk of irritant or allergic reactions.
